Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge #39 - U rock!

This week over on Taheerah's blog, the theme is all about gold, white and black - what a classy combination!
The picture above does not do the card justice but alas, it was the best I could do!! :)  See below for a better idea of the gold effect.

I took a favourite PTI set of mine, Live Love Life, and used some Zing Gold Glitter embossing powder for a bit of a wow factor.  I decided to keep this card clean and simple and easy to mail so no layers, no pop dots and no extra embellishments.  I added the 'rock' sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx, double stamping it with my MISTI for an extra rich black.
You can see the glitter effect of the embossing powder better in the image above - a real glitz.  I used some Rustic White card stock for a little more visual interest - just love the flecks in this paper!  Thanks, Taheerah, for the inspiration picture - it is simply gorgeous.

PTI Make it Monday #196 - Colourful Corners - Just a Note

I had a card that I forgot to photograph this week for the Make it Monday corner stamping challenge - hopefully it makes it in before the deadline.  I used the stamps from Bold Bouquet in Fresh Ink mint and steel blue.  Restamping makes the colours really pop and it's easy to do with the MISTI.
I added a sentiment from one of my Fillable Frames sets in Versafine Onyx Black.
I really love the colour combo - calm and serene.  I made four of these - one for me and three more for card sets I have an order for.  Simple and easy to mail!

PTI Make it Monday #196 - Colourful Corners: just a note

One more creation for the corner stamping challenge over at Papertrey Ink:
I used a couple of Studio Calico Colour Theory inks for the dandelion starbursts from Botanical Silhouettes and a sentiment from the same set in Déjà Blue.  Simple and one layered!

Cure for the Monday Blues #38 - welcome little baby

This week over on Taheerah's blog, the inspiration picture is this cute sprinkled image.  I have some card orders I'm finishing up and thought this would be perfect for some baby cards I have been requested to make.
I took a rustic white card base and a smaller 3.75 x 5 front.  I die cut a Itty Bitty Baby Blessings onesie out and added some polka dots using Fresh sugar ink.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set in Fresh fuschia.
I die cut some white fun foam to create the dimension needed for a shaker card, added acetate and then the layer of foam.  I let it dry for a while so that the sequins don't get stuck in the corners.
My latest adhesive of choice is Tombo Mono Aqua - it is awesome and dries clear.  I still like Mono Multi but that stays tacky.  I added a variety of sequins from my stash - clear, purple and aqua as well as some sparkly white ones.
Hard to get a good photo of the sequins but you can see them a bit better above ...

This was a fun challenge - thank you to Taheerah for the inspiration pic! :)

PTI Make it Monday #196 - Colourful Corners: Thank You

I made some simple cards for some card sets I have orders for - stamping some simple images in the corners for this week's Make it Monday over at Papertrey Ink.
I took card bases of 110lb white Recollections card stock and added a Botanical Silhouettes sentiment using Fresh ink in navy.  I then added some Leave it Be images in Fresh blue sage.
I smudged one of them by mistake but decided to hide that by stamping a graph background from Studio Calico.  Like magic, you can't see it! :)

PTI Make it Monday #196 - Colourful Corners: Happy New Year

This week's Make it Monday over at Papertrey Ink is all about decorating the corners of cards.  I decided to make a new year's card to send to a friend in Japan - for them New Year's is celebrated much more than Christmas or Hannukah.
I used my Luxe Letterpress stamp set for the two sizes of stars with some Fresh ink in Sugar and Fuschia.  I stamped them randomly in the two corners.
I then added a Versamark stamped Wet Paint sentiment and a Winnie and Walter typed sentiment. The embossing is Zing Gold Glitter - love the shine of this powder!
Gotta love a one layer card - easy to pop in the mail!

PTI Make it Monday #196: Colourful corners - just a note

Happy 2015, everyone!!  Hard to believe another year has passed ... where does the time go?

This week's Make it Monday over at Papertrey Ink is perfect for me since I have a few card sets to make as gifts and I love stamping the corners of cards.
I took out a tool I purchased in the fall that works wonderfully when you are making more than one card - the MISTI.  I posted about it a while back here where I did an ombre inking technique.
I usually have difficulty with clear stamps and dye inks but with the Misti, you can restamp and get a super solid image - take a look at the closeup:
Impressive, right?  So nice and solid!  I used my Studio Calico Colour Theory inks in Déjà Blue, Mint Hint and Yes, Peas to stamp the leaves from Leave it Be and the sentiment from the anniversary set, Botanical Silhouettes onto 110lb white Recollections card bases.
